Import dropout design from my CAD

BikeCAD Pro How To Forum

Hello,

I've bought a set of DR06 dropouts from Ceeway and I'd like to be able to use them in BikeCAD 15. I can model them in my CAD system [VisiCAD] but is it then possible to import them to use in my design?

Cheers,

JB

Hello folks,

I've forgotten what the ISO 4210-2 Annex A,b value means and what is a 'good' value to aim for.

Cheers,

JB

I'm slightly confused on all data points to measure to build a saddle. Any tips would be great, if they could be broken down in pairs that would be great. IE A and B then C and D etc..

Thank you

Hi, Brent,

I have problems with the cutting template for columbus tubes, in this case with the HX tubes.

I put the tube data in BikeCAD.

I generate the cutting template.

I print out checking that it is done at 100% or actual size.

When I present the template, it is small, it does not reach the total diameter of the tube.

I can send you the generated template if you wish.

Thanks

Carlos

Tube Lengths and Miter Templates

Hello, I'm wondering which measurements are most correct when it comes to cutting tubes lengths and applying the miter print outs. Do I need to be initially cutting the tubes to the center-center lengths? I had a bent seat tube and am using the Z1 and Z2 dimensions to measure from the center of the bb to the center of the bend. Then from bend center to seat coller. Same questions but with bent stays. I tried to vary the curvature to see if the length dimensions changed and it did not. I'm sure I'm overlooking something.

Is there a way to add a large watermark or scale a note. My goal is a large label rather than using the text box.

Does one need to upload their logo into the dingbat logos, and if so how do you do this?

BikeCAD 15 won't run/install?

Hi Brent:

I just downloaded BikeCAD v.15 and tried to install it. I get an error message - "failed to create JVM". I updated Java and did a few restarts. Still a no go. Interestingly, when I try to unzip and then install the v.15 files, the dialog box reads that BikeCAD v.13 is trying to install? I am sure it is an error on my part, but would love any help! I am now unable to open BikeCAD at all without the above message. Thanks, Daniel

BikeCAD Pro How To Forum

Hi, I figured it would be worth asking this in the forum, rather than in a direct email, just so others could potentially benefit from the answer. My main computer is a mac, and it's running Catalina, which as I understand places some restrictions on software that can be used. I'm considering taking the plunge and buying BikeCAD Pro, but would like to know if it will run on on this computer. I do have a windows 10 computer, but it's very slow and I only use it for a few programs that don't run on mac, so I would prefer not to use it for BikeCAD.
