BikeCad 12.0 on Ubuntu Problems

BikeCAD Pro How To Forum

Hi All,

Just downloaded BikeCad 12.0 to my Ubuntu 14.04 machine... It will not recognize the files, and seems to require me to change the permissions because it hasn't come from the Uduntu Software Centre.

This all seems ok... Except I'm a complete moron when it comes to computers! Can anybody help me with the step-by-step in Terminal to make this happen?

Thanks,

PhilMac

Curved stays doesn't hold VR dimensions

Hi,

If you curve the stays the T value becomes uneditable and the VR value has no effect. Is that an issue? How could I address that configuration?

Thanks.

Can't Delete Linear Dimension Line

I'm not able to Hide or delete a linear dimension line that I created. When I right clicked and selected "Hide" the dimension value was deleted but the line remains. I can not select it to delete. I've attached a screen shot with an on screen note to make the line easy to locate. As the image shows the drawing is for a tandem I drew the line to measure the effective seat tube angle but then discovered this is already included in the included dimensions.

Head tube height

Brent,

I have an existing frame that I'm putting into BikeCad Pro. I have all key measurements, but the head tube height appears to be a dependent measurement. When I adjust the measurement from the center of the down tube intersection with the head tube to the bottom of the head tube, the head tube height doesn't change, rather the down tube slope changes. Therefore, I can't input the correct and measured height of the head tube. Your guidance is much appreciated. If you like, I can email you the file that I'm currently working with.

Best,

TRL

Newbie question.

I am using to reach & stack values to control the dimensions.

But if I want to have a horizontal T.T. it changes the H.T. length.

What am I getting wrong ?

Cheers, JB

I have downloaded and installed V12.0, but it only have the 4 generic dropouts that were in the previous releases.

Can you please give a download location for the new files for the paragon, and other drop outs?

Thanks,

Chris

Braze-ons: is there a way of adding them?

I'm sure this has already been discussed, so apologies if it has. However, I'm looking for a way of adding braze-on cable guides. Is this part of the package, or as something not intergral to the structure of the frame, not included in the package?

Hi,

I did some design and saved it as SVB2015-01_LK.bcad (see attachment SVB2015-01_LK.png).

Next I saved the file as SVB2015-01_AO.bcad and did change some dimensions.

But I got an unexpected and undesired result. Please, see attachment SVB2015-01_AO.png

What I did wrong?

My system: Windows 8.1 64 bits, BikeCAD Pro 11.74, Java Version 8 Update 40 both 32 and 64 bits.

How do I set up the heatube for braze on integrated cups.

Like below, I know I can just use a standard measurements for overall length, but i was wondering if I could set it up to show the hidden piece of headtube inside the cups, and have the length tube showing and total length including part of tube inside?

Thanks in advance.
