Hi Brent,

I'm wondering whether BikeCAD Pro Version 11.5 lets me specify a reinforcement strut like the one shown in the picture.

If it does please explain how since I could not find it.

If not please include it into the next version ;-)

Thanks,

Horst

Front Caliper Brake Location

I am having a hard time figuring out how to adjust the default location of a front caliper brake in BCAD. The default location seems to be the lower portion of the headtube. It would be nice to have it mounted to the fork crown.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks,

Jess Couch

When I view the drawing I see an extra set of tubes and tires plus feet that are displayed horizontally. It would be nice if I could turn them off.

Documenting a bicycle setup using specs from Retül

I was recently asked to demonstrate how one might document a design in BikeCAD using specs from Retül. This is a common question, so I thought I would post my response here on the forum.

The sample Retül session was for a 51mm Specialized Dolce. Before looking too closely at the Retül dimensions supplied, I figured I would model a Specialized Dolce based on the frame geometry posted on the Specialized website.

Below is the BikeCAD model I developed. As you can see, the BikeCAD dimensions match the specs from the Specialized website which I've pasted alongside.

Tapered Steerers

Is there any way to model a tapered head tube in BikeCAD Pro? I can see how to create a "stepped" variable diameter head tube but is not obvious to me how to model a head tube that has a constant taper from the top to bottom? An example of what I am refering is the Paragon Machine Works HT2055.

Thanks!

Locky

Is there any way to have an inset top and external bottom headtube similar to the Canecreek ZS series? or the similar King series?

I can't get 8.1 to work on my laptop

Since I got back from the hospital (got hit again) I can't get my copy of 8.1 to work on my old dell. I have tried to get it to work but it just keeps trying to unzip itself. I have a set of plans that used to work but now no good. I guess that three hundred and fifty bucks I spent might as well have put the money in the street and set it on fire.

Step Through Frame

BikeCAD Pro How To Forum

Hi Brent,

I'm trying to design a basic step-through frame, but having trouble. In order to angle the top tube down and to intersect the seat tube at a lower point, I have tried increaseing the top tube/seat tube setback (in primary dimenstions), increasing the top tube angle, and then switching to front-center to shorten the head tube, none of which results in a workable design. Can you give me a pointer?

Thanks

jb
