First off thanks for making this free version accesible. It is a great tool and it has made building bicycle frames a reality for me/others!

I have tried on several browsers (Explorer, Safari, Firefox, Chrome) on several differet computers/platforms.
Every time I attempt to change a wheel size from custom to standard I get a Java error.

In fact I beleive anytime I attempt to change a "custom" default value to "standard" the error is occuring.

Anyone else seeing this.
Java is up to date on all tested machines.

Chain Stay Angle

BikeCAD How To Forum

It would be nice if BikeCAD could calculate the chain stay angle. It's the angle between chain stays and seat tube. This matters because both Campagnolo and SRAM list their road front derailleurs as supporting chain stay angles from 61 to 66 degrees.
My own calculation says in the design for my new road bike the angle is 68.5 degrees.
The angle is so high because my legs are 39.5 inch so the bike will have Zinn 215mm cranks, which need a very low bottom bracket drop in order to keep a reasonable cornering clearance.

Bug Report

BikeCAD How To Forum

First of all thanks for BikeCAD its great.

I've found a bug where should I report it?

Bug Details
-----------------

I think the bug was caused by loading up sprockets, selecting 10 sprockets, and then editing and selecting 9 sprockets. The result is a BikeCAD file that won't load. You can see this at BikeCAD.ca/1326941806865.

If you are able to look at the file you'll around 2947 an entry for "Teeth on Cog 9", which has no value. This causes the free applet to fail with

BikeCAD How To Forum

Hi there,

When I last worked with BikeCAD Free i was able to save an XML representation of my design locally which I could then upload to do further work on. Is this functionality still available? Its important to me to be able to backup my work locally in addition to any storage of my work that is done via my account

Many thanks for BikeCAD

Andrew

How do you figure out rear dropout angle...?

I am not sure what angle this is called... maybe rear dropout angle or cast angle? Anyway, I am just trying to figure out how you can figure out the angle between the chainstay and seatstay in BikeCAD. For example, see this picture...

Angle A, in the picture from the link above, is what I am trying to determine.

Primary Dimension Changes

BikeCAD How To Forum

Hi Brent, I'm getting a bit confused, I've been playing around with a new 29er hardtail design. It all seems to work fine until I want to change fork length to see the differences. For example I might have things in at an AtoC of 470(80mm sagged) and ST/HT angles of 73/71. If I then alter the fork AtoC to 490mm I would expect to see the drawing rotate around the rear axle. So the angles slacken approx 1 degree, the BB drop shrink and the ETT and Reach numbers alter to reflect this. What actually happens is the front end just elongates upwards.

Change a Language

BikeCAD How To Forum

Hi,

I'd like to change language in BikeCAD. I'm from Poland and the problem is that BikeCAD automatically switches language to Polish. However it is translated using Google Translate so many words are just ridiculous and funny. I'd prefer using English - it would be more understandable.

Thanx for your help.

Karol
